President’s Report
-PTO has changed its name to Parent Teacher Committee. Meetings will be held on the second (2nd) Tuesday of every month, alternately after school 2:35pm and 5:30pm.
Halloween Carnival will be held on Saturday instead of Friday night.
New T-shirt design is needed, please see Margery if you are interested in helping.
Treasurer’s Report
-$3,300 in account for the start of 2009-10SY. $3,500 has been set aside for the after school clubs. Mr. Davis will inform staff that those that wish to sponsor an after school club will need to submit a short proposal. Discussion ensued pertaining to the limits of monies and types of activities PTC should fund Margery will coordinate a committee to review and set up rules and regulations for PTC spending. Carol B. suggested PTC use Partners in Education form as a model.
Principal’s Report
- None at this time.
Old Business
-Yearbook - need volunteers to help, will keep this as a club. Lifetouch will be printing the yearbook and has software that will make it simple; Contact Margery.
Fund-raising ideas (help with the refurbishing of the cafeteria after new cafeteria is built)
Sell bricks
Bake Sales outside of the school (Lowes - contact ReNell)
Art Auction (Michael Karr 4th grade teacher)
Arts & Crafts Show - hold it in November. A volunteer coordinator is needed.
Read-a-thon (Literacy Night?)
Calendar - Student Art
PopStars - Mr. Davis will ask teachers if they wish to continue with the program and if so we would like their input to improve and different ways to encourage students to gain points. PTC will sponsor a Pizza Part for the classroom that has the most parents attending PTC meetings.
New Business
-Halloween Carnival - Saturday, October 24, 2009 Margery will set a date and time for a meeting to discuss this event in detail.
