Catherine Hathaway grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and attended Booker T. Washington High School, which has since been ranked one of the top 100 high schools in the nation. She received her B.A. from Duke University, with a double major in Studio Design (Visual Arts) and Psychology. While living in Washington, D.C., Catherine worked for the Smithsonian Institution's National Associates Program and was part of a team of painting restorers who refurbished the murals of the Library of Congress. After studying art history at Southern Methodist University, she moved to Santa Fe in 1992 and worked in the gallery business for fourteen years. In 2006, Catherine received her teaching certificate through the alternative licensure program at Santa Fe Community College. This is her fifth year teaching fourth grade at Turquoise Trail Charter School and third year serving as a staff representative on the Governance Council.
